Paintings shaped by place and presence.
I create paintings and assemblage works rooted in place, prayer, and lived experience. My work emerges from sustained observation of land and water, devotional rhythms, and the quiet language of objects gathered over time.
Through color, mark, and material, I explore restoration, memory, and what it means to be held by something greater than ourselves
ABOUT
I am an artist and educator based in Hawaiʻi, working at the intersection of nature, devotion, and personal history. International Artist Residency — Italy
This fall, I will travel to Italy for an international artist residency, an opportunity to step away from the rhythms of daily life and devote concentrated time to painting, looking, and listening. My practice has long been rooted in the natural world, material, light, and the quiet conversation that takes place between the artist and what is being observed. This residency offers space to deepen that practice—to slow down enough to notice, to follow curiosity, and to allow new work to emerge through sustained attention.
The residency is also a natural extension of Akea Lani, the creative community and Rule of Life I am developing around the belief that art can be a practice of presence. We begin with wonder. We practice presence. We honor the land. We pursue excellence with humility. We welcome mystery. I see this residency not simply as a trip, but as an opportunity to live these practices more fully—to become a student of a new place, to encounter its landscape and history with humility, and to allow those encounters to inform the work. The paintings offered through this fundraiser are an invitation for others to participate in that journey and help make this season of concentrated artistic practice possible.
My background in fine art and teaching informs a practice that values slowness, experimentation, and deep listening.
Much of my work grows from lived cycles of rest and renewal, shaped by time spent outdoors, studio ritual, and a commitment to honest, embodied making.
l believe art begins with attention.
Beauty is discovered before it is created.
We are apprentices of wonder.
Materials are collaborators.
Craft is an act of love.
Excellence and humility belong together.
We make because we have first received.

Works
My fine art practice is grounded in painting, drawing, and assemblage, often incorporating found and natural materials. These works are intuitive and process-driven, shaped by attention to landscape, weather, and the spiritual undercurrents of daily life.
Each piece functions as a visual record — of a place, a season, or a prayer — inviting viewers into reflection rather than resolution.

My projects unfold over time and often include layered components — paintings, studies, writings, objects, and community engagement. These bodies of work are rooted in specific landscapes and questions, allowing space for both artistic exploration and spiritual inquiry.
Each project is an invitation to pause, notice, and dwell with meaning as it slowly reveals itself.
Available works include original paintings and select fine art prints. Each piece is created with intention and care, and is offered as a tangible extension of my studio practice.
Purchasing artwork directly supports ongoing creative work and helps sustain a life devoted to making.
